BST CAT championship program this weekend

(Photo by Terry Gardner)By Suzan McCoyCALHAN, Colo. – While rain has been a challenge throughout the season, IMCA race teams in five divi­sions will challenge for BST CAT championships this Saturday, Aug. 12 at El Paso County Raceway in Calhan.The BST CAT Tour features IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. This tour has traveled to four differ­ent dirt tracks located in Colorado, Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, I-76 Speedway in Fort Mor­gan, and Lamar Speedway in Lamar in addition to El Paso County.The leader in the Modified standings is John Burrow Jr. with 247 points, but Greg Sharpe is right behind with 243. A.J. Valim was 10 points ahead of Burrow and Sharpe before the July 3 race at I-76 Speedway; unfortunately he wrecked in his heat race and went to the “B” main.Joe Bellm, BST promoter, got behind the wheel this year to become the Stock Car point leader. John Luck, with only a one point difference, is ready to battle it out with Bellm for first place.Northern SportMod CAT Tour Ryan Moser has a 29-point lead over Danny Concelman. Shad Cooper leads in the Hobby Stock division but blew his engine at Phillips County on Aug. 4 which could open the door for Max Quint.  Leading in the Sport Compact is Chad Mann with 209 points, but girlfriend Shalanda Smith is only two points behind.  You would not know the two are dating while watching them race.With all the divisions being too close to call, we are excited to get to the track and watch these racers com­pete for the CAT Tour championship.last_img read more

Parimatch hosts inaugural Dota2 Parimatch League Season

first_img International betting operator Parimatch strengthened its commitment to esports after it teamed up with ESforce Holding to host the Dota2 Parimatch League Season 1. The tournament, which had a prize pool of $75,000, attracted over 1,000 spectators to the Yota Arena in Moscow. It marked the first time that a betting operator had organised its own esports competition. Stepan Shulga, Head of esports at Parimatch commented; “We managed to create a unique Russian-language league for players, which has become an excellent base for rivalry in the CIS region. I hope that our tournament has pleased the esports community and will further develop the Russian-speaking scene of Dota 2. In the competition’s inaugural season, broadcasts of the tournament have accrued over 6 million views across its Twitch platform, with the average number of viewers for the league reaching 36,000. The finals of the Parimatch Leagues saw a number of CIS esports teams compete against one another, and included Virtus.Pro, HellRaisers, Team Spirit and jfshfh178 of which Virtus.Pro took the $40,000 winning prize.Maxim Maslov, Epic Esports Events CEO, added: “We saw a very impressive level of play in the first season. We are sure that the fans were entertained.
