John Mayer Announces Extensive Tour, Will Play With The Trio, Acoustic & Full Live Band

first_imgJohn Mayer has announced a huge Spring tour that will take him across North America and Europe, his first major tour as a solo artist in years. Mayer will combine his varied talents into one show, promising an acoustic set, a set with the John Mayer Trio (featuring bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan), and a set with his full live band as well. This is quite the exciting announcement for John Mayer fans. After a few years away from the limelight as a result of a vocal chord injury (and subsequent surgery), Mayer surprised many when he re-emerged as a member of Dead & Company in 2015. However, he quickly proved himself, gaining hordes of new fans along the way as he impressed the Grateful Dead masses at giant venues like Citi Field, Fenway Park, Folsom Field, and The Gorge. Now, after releasing the first part of his new album, the multi-sectional The Search For Everything, earlier this year, Mayer will finally return to the road as a solo artist, bringing all of his best music and bandmates with him for what’s sure to be an awesome musical experience.Mayer will kick off his tour at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY on March 31st. The tour will take him to Madison Square Garden in New York, the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, The Forum in Inglewood, and the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. There are fifteen North American dates in all, with the tour finishing off at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on April 22nd. The tour will then move to Europe, where Mayer will make stops in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo, London, and more.See the official announcement video below for more details. There is an American Express pre-sale starting tomorrow, Tuesday January 31st, at 10:00 A.M. local time, with a regular on-sale set for Friday, February 3rd at 10 A.M. local time.
