It is the first one since 2015 for the Winged Lions.Among the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network athletes to excel were as follows:1st SinglesManti senior Sadie Cox advanced to the semifinals before losing to eventual champion, Rowland Hall freshman Lucy Wallin, 1-6, 3-6. Cox bested Judge sophomore Isabella Valles in the first round and Grantsville sophomore Sophie Crosby in the second round.Richfield senior Sarah Utley downed Providence Hall senior Hailee Sumpter in the first round and lost to Wallin in the second round.2nd SinglesWaterford junior Noelle Kieffer won the state title, besting Rowland Hall junior Tennyson Seethaler.Manti senior JoLee Gillett downed San Juan senior Makaeli Begaye in the first round and fell to Seethaler in the second round.3rd SinglesRowland Hall sophomore Rachelle Prasthofer downed Grand sophomore Stella McGowan for the state title.Richfield junior Aubrei Jorgensen advanced to the semifinals, losing to Prasthofer in that round.Jorgensen bested Judge senior Elise Runnels in the first round and Grantsville junior Lacey Linares in the second round.Manti senior Emma Jorgensen advanced to the second round, where she fell to Prasthofer. Emma Jorgensen downed Carbon senior Nicole Swasey in the first round.1st DoublesMorgan sophomores Lucy Tripp and Reagan Toone took the state title, downing Grantsville senior Hallie Johnson and sophomore Addie Butler.Manti senior Libby Simons and sophomore Heidi Jorgensen advanced to the semifinals, where they fell to Tripp and Toone.Simons and Jorgensen downed Judge seniors Emery Lloyd and Mei Nagata-Brown in the first round and Waterford senior Siya Pandit and sophomore Delaney Huefner.Richfield seniors Marissa McIff and Karsyn Harris advanced to the second round where they fell to Tripp and Toone. They downed Providence Hall senior Maya Thornell and sophomore Ashley Bentley.South Sevier seniors Morgan Blackburn and Aubree Robinson advanced to the second round where they fell to Johnson and Butler of Grantsville. They defeated Maeser Prep senior Sydney Sevy and junior Madilee Gulbrandsen in the first round.2nd DoublesGrantsville sophomores Madison Bolinder and Riley Dalton downed Manti junior Talia Cluff and sophomore Emma Christensen to win the state title.Cluff and Christensen advanced to this point by downing Grand sophomore Mekker Ralph and junior Molly Knowles in the first round, Waterford junior Megan Wade and sophomore Chrissy Vranes in the second round and Morgan freshmen Ryann Jensen and Sydney Jensen in the semifinals.South Sevier seniors Presley Chappell and Neleh Troseth advanced to the second round by downing Judge sophomore Justine Nicholson and freshman Audrey Selfridge. They fell to Bolinder and Dalton in the second round.North Sanpete’s squad of junior Natalya Benson and freshman Abri Benson advanced to the second round before falling to Rowland Hall junior Madeline Frazier and sophomore Kate Altman.Benson and Benson downed San Juan senior Irie Shumway and sophomore Adia Eberling in the first round.
