Grade separation due for review MONTEBELLO – The public is invited to review and comment on the railroad grade separation options for the city Tuesday, May 15 from 7-9 p.m. at the Montebello Senior Center, located at 115 S. Taylor Ave. Three grade separation options will be reviewed at the workshop. These options would separate car and train traffic along the Union Pacific Railroad in Montebello. WHITTIER – The City Council voted 3-2 Tuesday to spend $15,638 on an Independence Day celebration at Parnell Park and a public safety education campaign. The celebration will be an old-fashioned family picnic with games and entertainment. “It’s a modest figure,” Mayor Owen Newcomer said of the money. “It’s so important that we have some celebration.
