The service is for people of all ages with a wide range of illnesses and last year alone provided over 4,000 flights to British Columbians. Since it launched its mission in 1986, the nation-wide number of assistance flights is up to 78,000.For several years now, Darlene has been among the beneficiaries of Hope Air, as her travel is not covered by the provincial Medical Services Plan, and without the free service would be a major obstacle on her path to recovery. Last year she raised $700 dollars, and this year is hoping to double that amount by holding another Wheel-a-Thon at the walking track at the Pomeroy Sport Centre. It starts tomorrow afternoon 2 p.m. and pledges can be made at the walking track or online at www.hopeair.ca.- Advertisement –
Former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta departs the pitch at the Nou Camp for the final time. Departing Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has denied reports that he was offered a deal by Manchester City.It had been suggested that City boss Pep Guardiola was keen to bring the midfielder to the Etihad following his decision to leave Barca. 2 The pair are former team-mates and worked alongside each other when Guardiola was manager at the Nou Camp too.Iniesta drew a line under 22 years at the Catalan club when he signed for Japanese club Vissel Kobe earlier this summer and says he had no contact from City. Iniesta is given instructions by coach Pep Guardiola back in 2012. 2 He told Cadena Cope radio: “I had no offer from City, Guardiola never called me.“I have seen reports in the media that there was contact, but honestly there was no conversation. I was leaving Barca to leave Europe, so that would have made no sense.“I was lucky enough to be at an elite club where I was at my happiest, that makes me tremendously proud, but it was time to undertake another adventure.”You can see all of the confirmed summer transfer window deals in the Premier League here.
